"In Honor of Our Founder and Past President"

Cover Letter from the Executive Director & Board Chair
T-Time began in 2005 as a small transgender support group in Myrtle Beach. Back then, the trans community was largely invisible, and words like non-binary hadn't been popularized in our culture yet. We handed out flyers reminding people that the word "transsexual" was the proper term. We weren't a nonprofit back then, just a small group that met once a month, with two picnics a year.
Now, T-Time operates under an official non-governmental organization. We hold our classic support group, operate a Discord server, and play Dungeons and Dragons together. We host a non-binary tea party and a BIPOC-only support group. We have picnics and open mic nights. We have a small but dedicated volunteer program of people working to make our organization better. We offer mutual aid in the form of food, birth control, clothing swaps, and name change clinics. We have grown tremendously—much of it only in the past year.
We have never engaged in a formal strategic planning process before. In order to better further our mission of empowering the local transgender community, we have stepped up and found ways to creatively problem-solve the issues many of us face.We are publishing this plan at a critical time. The trans community is facing heartbreaking attacks from our legislature. While we do not know what the future holds, we hope that this plan will be a roadmap to help us better serve our community. Rather than remaining rigid, we believe that this plan will serve us in staying flexible, making adjustments as needed.
We are proud of how far T-Time has come as an organization. Thank you for being a part of this community we've created. While we are excited by the many changes to come, we will also continue to do what we've always done: bring support to trans individuals and make sure they know they are not alone. We are stronger together.

Executive Summary
T-Time has been around for two decades. We are getting ready to bring our community together in creative and stronger ways
In this strategic plan we commit to:
-
Increasing our demographic diversity, particularly in regard to race and age.
-
Utilize our resources to better serve the transgender community.
-
Communicate openly and effectively, both with our membership and internally.
-
Find creative ways to serve transgender individuals impacted by intersectional oppression.
-
Support and strengthen one another as we continue our life-saving work.
Values and Principles
-
We believe in the power of community in reducing suicidality for transgender individuals. You don't have to be the only trans person you know.
-
We seek to provide strong representation for the transgender community. We are not a monolith. Our board of directors and paid staff all identify under the trans umbrella. We also seek to represent ourselves and our experiences authentically to the wider world.
-
We want to create an environment of acceptance. Within our organization, this means treating all individuals with respect an dignity, and seeking to understand their various identities. In fighting for our rights, we hope to create a wold where all trans people can be accepted.
Core Future Strategies
-
By 2030, we will be able t offer a variety of mutual aid resources to our membership and community at large. We want to be able to provide a variety of resources to our community. We would like to be able to provide a food pantry specifically for the transgender community, and help individuals pay for rent and utilities. We would also like to provide gender-affirming gear. This will be available not just for our members, but for the local transgender and non-binary community at large.
-
By 2030, we will be actively involved in serving the elderly transgender population. We want to do more outreach to help serve the transgender community over the ages of sixty-five. We know that the risk of suicide increases with age, and this risk is compounded for the transgender population. Therefore, we want to increase our efforts in serving this vulnerable community, and find creative ways to reach those whose health does not allow them to attend our traditional support groups.
-
By 2030, we will have consistent, varied, and sustainable sources of income. We want to be able to sustain ourselves in the years to come. this means varying our methods of income: we want to increase individual donations and apply for a many grants as we can. We also want to continue to solicit donations from transgender artists for our merchandise sales.
-
By 2030, we will restructure the board and staff to ensure our organization is sustainable. We are committed to building a strong foundation so we an continue to serve the trans community in the years to come. We are also willing to look through and restructure that which does not serve our community, making us stronger in the process.
